Get HGH Anti-Aging Benefits Without Pills or Injections

Time to talk about your body’s potent fat burning hormone: HGH. There are plenty of over the counter medications that come in pill or spray form that will tell you they make a difference, but I will try to show you how to increase Human Growth Hormone, or HGH, levels with your diet and exercise.

The Basics: What is HGH (Human Growth Hormone)?

HGH is a hormone that is produced by our pituitary gland throughout our entire lifetimes. When you are younger it is one of the factors in increasing your height. As you age it mainly plays a role in repairing and “turning over” muscle tissue…as well as breaking down fat in your fat cells. Those are all great things that this complex hormone accomplishes, but I would like to move my concentration to maintaining muscles and losing body fat.

HGH Decreases As We Age

One of the major reasons that celebrities are injecting HGH is to maintain the level they had in their teens and early 20’s. Studies have shown that by 60 the level of HGH can be as low as a quarter of the level you had in your teens and early 20’s. This decline in HGH levels tends to begin at age 30. Maybe this is why so many people quickly put on weight in their 30’s. It does not have to be this way, which is a good thing.

Increase HGH With Intense Workouts

Every once in a while, you need to workout intensely to insure maximum release of your natural fat burning hormone. Staying active and maintaining a solid diet can lead to notable weight loss but if you want to shed the pounds in a shorter amount of time you’ll need to maximize the release of HGH in your body.

Increase HGH Through Fasting

The problem with eating every few hours is that when insulin levels are too high, your body will not produce HGH. Insulin is basically a sort of fat storage hormone where HGH is a fat releasing hormone. Insulin is what your body uses to store the nutrients in food when you eat. Your body can’t burn fat when insulin levels are heightened as your body will have put itself into storage mode. When insulin levels are lowered your body will begin using fat for energy, HGH levels will increase in order to release that store fat and turn it into energy. Fasting is an easy way to make this possible. You will have to eat when you are hungry, but fasting for select periods of time is a great way to lose fat while keeping muscle.

Getting a Solid Night’s Sleep Contributes to HGH Release

HGH gets released when you hit deep REM sleep. When you get 8 hours of sleep per night the amount of HGH released will be maximized. I have gone through periods of my life where I was living off an average of 5 hours per night, but I always found it tougher (still possible) to stay lean during these times. Do whatever you can do, but remember that resting well will let you live longer and be happier.
